Inflation in Belarus rose by 0.6% month-on-month (m/m) in June, with an annual rate of 5.8%, as reported by the National Statistical Committee (Belstat) on July 12. (chart)
The June report detailed sector-specific price changes: food products saw a decrease of 0.8% m/m, non-food products increased by 0.4%, and services prices rose by 0.5%. Y/y (y/y) comparisons showed that food prices increased by 6.4%, non-food products by 4.5%, and services by 6.6%.
Belarus has set a target inflation rate of 6% for 2024 according to its socio-economic development forecast.
