Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has called for a measured response to Israeli aggression, urging that the threat posed by Israel be neither overstated nor dismissed after an Israeli strike that killed several Iranian security officers in the early hours of October 26.

Tehran was informed by the Russian government before the hit on October 26 about which locations would be targeted, however, despite this early warning four army officers were killed in the strike.

“The evil of Israel should neither be exaggerated nor belittled,” he said during a meeting with the families of those killed in the attack.

He warned that Israel’s "miscalculation" should be addressed and stressed the need for Israel to recognise the resilience and determination of the Iranian people, especially its youth.

The Iranian clerical leader stressed the importance of national security and the need for authorities to maintain public confidence.

"The strength and will of the Iranian people must be acknowledged, and the right steps for the country should be taken," he said.

He also urged the government to safeguard psychological security, stressing the need to prevent fear and uncertainty from spreading in society, adding that Iran is strong and capable of defending itself.

Iranian Leader also underscored the fundamental role of security in Iran’s development.

He paid tribute to the killed security officers in the recent attack, referring to them as martyrs whose sacrifices highlight the critical importance of safeguarding the country.

“Without security, there is no economy, no science, no progress, no family life,” he said, adding that security serves as the cornerstone of a nation's advancement.

In light of cyberspace's growing influence, the Iranian Supreme Leader stressed that authorities must ensure the security of the virtual environment.

He warned that unchecked content online could harm societal morale, spreading anxiety and mistrust, noting “Those making decisions about cyberspace must be mindful of the potential consequences of misinformation or misleading news.”

Iran’s Supreme Leader also called for greater responsibility in managing online content, warning that inaccurate or harmful information could disrupt the country's psychological stability.

“Everything that gets posted in cyberspace has consequences,” he said, adding: “We must carefully consider how it affects the minds and spirits of the people.”
