A video has emerged showing a group of young people in Lima, Peru celebrating a birthday party in a highly offensive manner. The footage, which has garnered over a million views, depicts a young man holding a cake adorned with the image of George Floyd, the African-American man who tragically died during a police arrest in 2020.

Accompanying the display was the song "Breathe" by Pink Floyd, as attendees mockingly chanted Floyd's last words: "I can't breathe." The cake featured the message "Happy Birthday Daniel" alongside Floyd's image and the band's name, further amplifying the insensitivity of the act.

Social media users have reacted with outrage, labelling the celebration as discriminatory and disrespectful. The identities of those involved have yet to be revealed, but many have called for accountability.

George Floyd's death occurred on May 25, 2020, when former police officer Derek Chauvin pressed his knee against Floyd's neck for over eight minutes, despite Floyd repeatedly stating he could not breathe. This incident sparked worldwide protests against police brutality and racism, making Floyd a symbol of the Black Lives Matter movement and the ongoing fight for racial justice.
