Bosnias Serb Republic PPI, CPI inflation eases in Feb 2013.

Growth of consumer prices in Bosnias Serb Republic eased to 0.9% y/y in February from 1.5% y/y in January, as the annual decline of clothing and footwear prices widened, the entitys statistics office reported. In monthly terms, CPI edged up 0.1% in February. Prices of clothing and footwear shrank 9.1% y/y in February after falling 7.9% y/y a month earlier. In addition, food and non-alcoholic beverages prices (up 2% in February vs. 3.1% in January) and prices of transport (up 1.5% y/y in February vs. 1.9% y/y a month earlier) posted a slower annual increase, pushing the overall index down. Compared to the 2012 average, Februarys CPI inflation was 1.3%. Bosnias Serb republic PPI on domestic market went up 1.2% y/y in February after edging up 1.4% y/y in January, the Serb Republic statistical office said in a separate statement. Prices in the mining and quarrying sector declined an annual 0.3% in February after increasing by 2.3% y/y in January. Manufacturing prices inched up by 2% in February vs. a 2.1% y/y increase in January, supported by rising prices of manufacture of coke and refined petroleum products and food products. Utilities prices remained unchanged in annual terms. The rise of producer prices is likely to put some pressure on consumer prices in the following months, as transport and food and beverages comprise over 40% in the CPI basket. However, weak domestic demand will continue pushing the overall CPI inflation down.
