Rio de Janeiro. July 2, 2025. Andrey Guryev, President of the Russian Fertilizer Producers Association, member of the Management Board Bureau of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, and Chairman of the Russia–Brazil Business Council, will take part in the Russian-Brazilian Business Forum, the BRICS Business Forum, and the BRICS Summit in Rio de Janeiro on July 3–5, 2025.

The Forum will seek to promote Russia’s international business interests in Brazil and is being organized by the Russia–Brazil Business Council and Roscongress International.

“Cooperation between Russia and Brazil is multifaceted and touches on politics, economics, culture, and science. Brazil is Russia’s largest trading partner in the region, accounting for about 48% of Russia’s total trade with Latin America and the Caribbean. Trade reached an all-time high of USD 12.4 billion in 2024. Interregional cooperation continues to develop, with dialogue between Russian regions and Brazilian states intensifying. In 2028, the two nations will celebrate 200 years of diplomatic relations, adding relevance to the Russian-Brazilian Business Forum. I have no doubt that the event will serve as a logical continuation of the business dialogue between the two countries initiated during the business programme of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum,” Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation Anton Kobyakov said.

The Russian-Brazilian Business Forum will be attended by government officials, politicians, public figures, entrepreneurs, and representatives of the media from both countries. The programme for the event includes a plenary session and B2B and B2G negotiations between representatives of large and medium-sized businesses, government officials, and the heads of public institutions in Russia and Brazil.

“Brazil continues to be an important partner for Russia in Latin America. The countries share common values, advocate for the creation of a multipolar world, and are founding members of BRICS. Scientific, technological, educational, and cultural collaboration is well-established. These firm ties are further confirmed by the fact that trade between Russia and Brazil has reached an all-time high, with the Russia–Brazil Business Council, bilateral meetings, and forums playing a special role in the development of business partnerships. The Russian-Brazilian Business Forum is an important step in the development of economic and business cooperation between our countries. The large Russian delegation is proof to the expansion of our cooperation into new areas. I have no doubt that the forum in Rio de Janeiro will treat us to some interesting discussions, and we will benefit from the network opportunities,” Chairman of the Russia–Brazil Business Council and President of the Russian Fertilizer Producers Association Andrey Guryev said.

The business forum will provide the opportunity to discuss, identify, and promote initiatives and projects aimed at strengthening cooperation between Russia and Brazil. It is part of the event calendar of Brazil’s chairmanship of BRICS, with the BRICS Business Forum to be held in Rio de Janeiro on July 5 and followed by the BRICS Summit on July 6 and 7.

“While fully meeting the demand of its priority domestic market, Russia’s mineral fertilizer industry also serves as the world’s leading exporter, accounting for 18% of the global market. Over the past three years, our exports to BRICS countries have surged by more than 60%, reaching an all-time high of 21.5 million tonnes in 2024. BRICS nations now receive half of all Russian fertilizer exports, with one in every three tonnes of agrochemical products imported by BRICS members originating from Russia. We remain committed to being a reliable partner for our friendly nations in helping them achieve food sovereignty. During the upcoming BRICS Business Forum, we will discuss measures to unlock the significant potential for cooperation between BRICS countries,” Chairman of the Russia–Brazil Business Council and President of the Russian Fertilizer Producers Association Andrey Guryev said.

Media representatives seeking accreditation for the Russian-Brazilian Business Forum to be held on July 3, should contact Anna Shakhina (+7 963 664 28 18, WhatsApp) by the end of today.
