Croatias average net wage dropped by a real 2.4% on the year in April after declining by an annual 1.6% in the previous month, detailed data of the statistics office showed. In nominal terms, the average net wage rose marginally by 0.1% on the year to HRK 5,403 (EUR 721) in April, following an increase of 0.3% on the year a month earlier. On a monthly basis, the April average net wage narrowed by 1.7% in nominal and by 2.5% in real terms. The sector classification showed that most of the sectors contributed to the overall monthly drop of the net wage. In nominal terms, wages declined most in information and communication (18.9% on the month) and in water supply; sewerage, waste management and remediation activities (4.1% on the month). The gross wage declined by 3.2% on the month in real and by 2.4% on the month in nominal terms to HRK 7,767 in April, while on annual basis it went down by a real 2.3% and rose by a nominal 0.2% on the year. |
