French cargo airline CMA CGM Air Cargo has announced plans to deliver cargo from China to Europe via Uzbekistan.

The Paris-headquartered carrier intends to use the Central Asian country’s Navoi Airport as a transit point.

Representatives of Uzbekistan Airports, Uzaviation and Uzaeronavigatsia Center recently met with CMA CGM Air Cargo in Tashkent.

The airline will carry out five flights a week on the route using Airbus A330 aircraft. Navoi Airport will become a transit point used for technical landings, refuelling and crew changes.

CMA CGM Air Cargo, established in 2021, is the cargo airline division of the CMA CGM shipping group. It operates primarily out of Charles-de-Gaulle Airport in the French capital.
