British company Moneyhub announced on January 13 it has opened an office in the Slovenian capital Ljubljana as part of its European expansion.

Slovenia, which the company describes as technologically advanced and hugely receptive to innovation, was chosen as the base for Moneyhub’s post-Brexit European operations and was seen as an excellent choice to fast track European growth for the company’s Open Finance platform.

Moneyhub’s Open Finance platform was designed to support international expansion at scale, with in-built multi-currency functionality and a unique machine-learning categorisation engine, which is easily deployed to any market.

“Existing Moneyhub clients have already been able to expand to Ireland and Denmark, so the time is right to expand in Europe, particularly following Brexit and Open Banking PSD2 legislation gaining traction in Europe,” the company said in the statement.

Moneyhub’s CTO and one of the founding partners Dave Tonge is already based in Ljubljana.

“We are on a mission to share the capabilities of Open Finance with businesses and consumers alike not just in the UK, but throughout Europe and the Middle East too. The opening of our new office in Slovenia further underlines our commitment to strengthening our European offering,” Tonge commented.
