Headline industrial production in Ukraine was up 1.1% in 2018 y/y, but declined 3.5% m/m in December, the State Statistics Service reported.

Taking into account calendar affects, the year-on-year industrial production actually showed a decline of 2.7% in December y/y and a 1.7% decline in December m/m.

Amongst the worst performing sectors in December 2018 was the processing industry where production declined by 8.6% y/y. In mining and quarrying there was an increase of 1.8%, and the supply of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning was up 11.1%.

According to the report, in general, last year, the processing industry posted a rise of 0.2%, mining and quarrying some 2.1%, and the supply of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning some 2.8%.
