Canada-based Enghouse Systems announced the acquisition of Margento R&D, a Slovenia-based provider of transit fare collection, account-based ticketing, automatic vehicle tracking and payment solutions. The deal was completed through a wholly owned subsidiary of Enghouse.
Margento offers a scalable and easily deployable Mobility as a Service (MaaS) platform, delivering a seamless, user-centric mobile transit experience.
Its solutions are sold directly to public transportation agencies and transit operators, including bus, railway and parking companies, Enghouse said in a statement last week.
“We are excited to join forces with Enghouse. This partnership will allow us to expand Margento’s presence and create synergies in our sales through a combined go-to-market approach,” said Ziga Schmidt, CEO of Margento.
Founded in 2002, Margento is headquartered in Maribor, Slovenia.
Enghouse Systems is a publicly traded Canadian company specialising in vertically focused enterprise software solutions. It operates in key sectors such as contact centres, video communication, healthcare, telecommunications, public safety and the transit market.
The financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed.
