Montenegrin police have arrested Roman Ziemian, co-founder of FutureNet, who is wanted in Poland and South Korea for his alleged participation in a multi-million dollar fraud scheme.

Ziemian and his accomplice, Stephan Morgenstern, are accused of stealing $21mn from investors through their platform FutureNet. Ziemian is facing a life sentence in South Korea.

The Montenegrin interior ministry said in a statement that it has been searching for Ziemian for months.

“He is suspected of crimes in the field of economic crime, namely a serious form of fraud on a larger scale, money laundering, theft and violations of the law, which are punishable by life imprisonment in South Korea,” the ministry said in a statement.

This is not the first crypto fugitive arrested in Montenegro. Podgorica has detained Terraform Labs’ founder, Do Kwon, who is still managing to avoid extradition. Kwon is accused of cryptocurrency fraud that cost $40bn to investors.
