Slovakia’s gross domestic product performance improved to 2.1% growth in 2024, following the spring revision of GDP growth in the years 2021-2024 released by the Statistical Office of the Slovak Republic.
“The Slovak economy rose slightly faster in 2024 than the first published data in early March 2025 indicated,” statisticians highlighted the improvement on the 2% growth in 2024 reported in March.
The spring revision also rewrote the GDP in 2023 from 1.4% to the current 2.2%, while “the impact of the revision on the development of the economy in 2021 and 2022 was only minor,” statisticians also wrote in their report.
In 2024, the revised GDP volume exceeded €104.4bn, which is by €804mn more than the previously published volume.
The revisions of national accounts are done in accordance with the 2025 Revision Calendar and the National Revision Policy, and take place in April and October.
As per the quarterly development in 2024, the Slovak GDP now grew by 2.1% in the second quarter (up on the previously reported 2%), by 1.4% in the 3Q (up on 1.2%) and by 1.7% in the 4Q (down on 1.8%).
