Lebanon's Hezbollah said on October 3 it had carried out a series of attacks against Israeli forces along the Lebanon-Israel border, Al Manar television reported.
The Iran-backed group said in a statement it had targeted Israeli troops and positions with rockets, artillery, and explosive devices at multiple locations since early morning.
Hezbollah claimed to have conducted multiple attacks on Israeli forces throughout the day. The group said it targeted Israeli troops at Hanita site with artillery shells at 1:15 a.m., fired rockets at forces in Miskav Am settlement at 2:00 a.m., and launched rockets at troops in Yir'on settlement at 9:15 a.m.
Events on the southern border come as Israeli Airforce jets bombed the Chiyah district of Beirut on Al-Assad Street.
The militant group also reported using artillery to repel an Israeli advance near Fatima Gate at 10:15 a.m., and attacking Israeli forces between Shtula and Al-Raheb with rockets at 10:45 a.m.
These claims could not be independently verified by bne IntelliNews, and the Israeli military has not immediately commented on these specific allegations.
Hezbollah also claimed to have detonated explosive devices against Israeli infantry attempting to infiltrate near Maroun al-Ras and Yaroun villages, reportedly inflicting casualties.
The group said it fired rockets at the Sakhnim military industries base in Acre Bay at 4:40 p.m.
Hezbollah stated these actions were in support of "our steadfast Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and in support of their brave and honourable resistance."
Reuters could not independently verify the claims. The Israeli military has not immediately commented on these specific allegations.
The reported attacks come amid heightened tensions along the Israel-Lebanon border following recent clashes between Israeli forces and Hezbollah.
