Iran fired 102 missiles towards Israel on 1 October at 7:39 p.m., according to a report from the Jerusalem Post. This attack follows a warning from a senior White House official that the United States had indications of an imminent Iranian ballistic missile strike against Israel.

The US official stated: "We are actively supporting defensive preparations to defend Israel against this attack," saying that "a direct military attack from Iran against Israel will carry severe consequences for Iran."

This marks Iran's second major assault on Israel this year, following an April attack that was successfully thwarted by a coalition of five armies: Israel, the US, France, Jordan and the United Kingdom.

While the current attack involves 102 missiles as reported so far, US officials anticipate it could potentially surpass the scale of the April offensive, which consisted of 120 ballistic missiles, 170 drones and dozens of cruise missiles.

In response to the threat, Israel's Security Cabinet has convened an emergency meeting scheduled for 19:30 in a bunker in Jerusalem, as reported by Israeli media.
