Postova Banka received The Bankers Bank of the Year award in Slovakia for the second year in a row, TASR news agency reported. "We view this award as an acknowledgement for our dynamic growth, and it also motivates us to continue to pursue the trend," Postova banka's board chairman and CEO Marek Tarda was quoted as saying. The main advantages that contributed for the prestigious award were, according to the bank, its key indicators, which kept on improving, its effective response to market needs and the introduction of new products. Postova Banka, set up in December 1992, sells its products and services through some 1,500 post offices throughout Slovakia. It is 94% owned by financial company Istrokapital. Czech financial and investment group J&T has recently agreed with Istrokapital to buy 9.9% of the bank. Postova Banka posted a net profit of EUR 47.1mn for the first nine months of 2011, up 9.4% y/y, thanks to a 6.3% growth in operating revenue to EUR 112.9mn that came mainly from higher net interest income. |
