Kazakhstan has launched the “Silk Road” train tour, connecting Tashkent, Turkestan and Almaty. The inaugural journey was set to depart on November 16.
The four-day tour, announced by Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Tourism and Sports, promises an immersive experience with regard to the ancient Silk Road's rich heritage.
Travellers will explore iconic landmarks, benefit from guided tours and enjoy inclusive services such as meals, transfers and entrance fees.
Yerzhan Erkinbayev, Kazakhstan’s Vice-Minister of Tourism and Sports, noted that the route enhances cultural ties and improves travel convenience and affordability between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.
The itinerary features visits to renowned historical sites, including the ancient city of Otyrar, the Arystan Baba Mausoleum and the Azret Sultan cultural complex.
One highlight is the Caravan-Saray tourist complex, a key attraction in Central Asia.
In Tashkent, visitors will explore a blend of historical monuments and modern architecture, showcasing the city’s diverse heritage.
The tour initiative is part of a broader effort to enhance regional connectivity in Central Asia’s tourism sector.
