Central European Media Enterprises (CME) recorded net revenue of USD 67.1mn from operations in Slovakia in the first nine months of 2011, up 14% y/y, the company said in a statement. CMEs operating income before depreciation and amortisation (OIBDA) totalled USD 1.7mn, compared to a loss of USD 4.96mn a year earlier. In the third quarter alone, CMEs Slovak net revenue rose 13.4% y/y to USD 18.2mn, while the OIBDA was negative at USD 1.5mn, however smaller than the loss of USD 3.8mn in the third quarter of 2010. CME, partly owned by Time Warner Inc., is a media and entertainment company operating leading broadcasting, content and new media businesses in six central and eastern European countries with an aggregate population of approximately 50 million people. In Slovakia it owns commercial TV Markiza and the niche TV channel Doma, targeted at women in the age of between 12 and 54. |
