An explosion at an explosive manufacturing company in Iran’s central province of Isfahan on April 29 resulted in one death and several injuries, ISNA reported.

The Director General of Disaster Management for Isfahan Governorate, Mansour Shisheforoush, reported that the blast occurred at 10:30 a.m. in a shed at Avanar Parsian Company, located in Meymeh city. Emergency response and Red Crescent personnel were immediately dispatched to the scene.

He said the incident has been controlled, but one person lost their life, and two others suffered burn injuries, who were promptly transferred to medical centres by emergency teams.

The explosion caused damage to the shed’s roof and structure, and investigations into its cause are underway, according to Shesheforoush.

Avanar Parsian is a prominent Iranian manufacturer of industrial explosives, operating under the supervision of the country’s Supreme National Security Council and other relevant organisations.

The company produces over 52 types of fireworks and explosives, ranging from coloured smoke effects to gunpowder for hunting and mining.

This incident follows just days after a catastrophic explosion at Shahid Rajaee Port in southern Iran, which has claimed at least 70 lives so far.

Iranian officials have attributed that incident to safety violations and the misdeclaration of hazardous materials, ruling out sabotage or foreign interference.

The timing of the port explosion coincided with a third round of nuclear programme talks between an Iranian delegation and the United States in Oman.

Israeli and Arab media have already noted the similarity and time between the two blasts, which have now caused dozens of deaths, Iranian authorities said they are dealing with the issue.
